Pharmaceutical manufacturer Darnitsa did not actually reduce drug prices after ban on marketing payments, — Sazonov

After the ban on marketing agreements from March 1, prices were supposed to decrease by 22%, but this did not happen, according to political expert Kyrylo Sazonov . In his opinion, the pharmaceutical manufacturer Darnytsia did not actually reduce the prices of medicines after the ban on marketing payments was adopted.

“At the end of 2024, prices for Darnytsia drugs were sharply increased. Later, the company announced an alleged price reduction, but it affected only about 20 items out of more than 250 items,” Sazonov noted in his Telegram channel.

He recalled that the company's top official, Kateryna Zahoriy, publicly acknowledged significant marketing expenses.

Therefore, after the ban on marketing contracts from March 1, prices were supposed to decrease by 22%, writes Sazonov.

“In fact, Darnytsia raised prices for the entire portfolio, simulated a decrease in some drugs, and saved at least 22% on each. Only the company benefited from this, while neither consumers nor the state felt the price reduction. Instead, sales volumes fell sharply,” the expert believes.

It was previously reported that the Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law on regulating pharmacy activities in accordance with EU norms.
