The UN is launching a new cash aid: how to get 10,800 UAH per person — program details

Some internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine may receive cash assistance from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the amount of UAH 3,600 per month for three months (total amount per person — UAH 10,800), NV writes.

Who can get help?

Vulnerable IDPs who:

1. Left home less than six months ago;
2. Returned to Ukraine from abroad after forced displacement due to military operations.
Vulnerability criteria: A household must meet one or more of the following criteria, and also have an income of less than UAH 6,318 per person per month:
• are members of a family with only one parent (either father or mother) with one or more children under the age of 18 or with elderly people (55 years of age and older);
• are members of a family headed by one or more single elderly persons (55 years of age and older) or an elderly person with one or more children under the age of 18;
• are family members with one or more individuals with special needs who have disabilities or chronic illnesses.

ADVERTISING

Important restriction: Only households that have not received cash assistance from UNHCR or other UN agencies or humanitarian organizations in the past three months can receive assistance.

Documents and Registration

To receive assistance, you must undergo an interview and submit documents at the offices of the Right to Protection charity foundation, a UNHCR partner. All household members must come to the data collection point. If there are people in the family with limited mobility who cannot come to the registration point, registration using original documents is allowed (subject to providing a medical certificate confirming their health status).

Required documents:

• Passport or other identification document.
• Tax number.
• Documents confirming the vulnerability category (e.g. IDP certificate, medical certificate in case of disability or illness).
• IBAN of the main applicant's hryvnia bank account.
• Birth certificates of children (if available).
• Personal phone number.

Who is included in the household: The head, his/her spouse, children under 23 years old, parents, as well as grandparents who are dependent on them.

How is the payment made?

The entire amount of assistance (10,800 UAH for each family member) is transferred immediately within three months to the hryvnia bank account of the main applicant or can be received through:
• Digital wallet (Vibrant app).
• MoneyGram or PrivatMoney money transfer systems.

Data collection points

The Right to Protection registration points operate in 10 regions and have 12 offices (mobile groups operate in Donetsk and Kherson regions). Information about work schedules and registration (electronic queue if necessary) is updated in the fund's Telegram channels.

Offices operate in: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kremenchuk, Kharkiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odessa.

As “FACTY” wrote, Ukrainians will be paid assistance to pay for communal services.
