Despite the fact that tariffs for basic utilities (gas, electricity, water supply, heating) were “frozen” in Ukraine during the fighting, prices are still rising. And the NBU predicts that an increase in housing and utility tariffs is only a matter of time.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
According to the State Statistics Service, in October the annual inflation rate was 10.9% – slightly lower than in September – 11.9%. However, utilities still became more expensive, writes “Obozrevatel”. The annual growth (from October 2024 to October 2025) was 2.4%.
In particular, the fee for managing apartment buildings increased by 12.1%. Garbage collection became more expensive by 6.7%, housing maintenance and repair by 3.1%; water supply by 0.7%; and sewage by 0.6%.
We remind you that from January 1, 2026, the procedure for charging for gas supply will change. The tariff will depend on the actual volume of gas consumption by a household for the “gas year” – from October 2024 to September 2025. The tariff for gas distribution will be calculated taking into account this indicator.
