A U.S. representative informed CBS News on the 25th of November that the Ukrainian governing body “consented to a peaceful settlement” facilitated by the U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to bring an end to approximately four years of Russian hostile actions.

An American official and Ukrainian National Security Advisor Rustem Umerov stated that an overall accord had been achieved regarding the suggestion, the specifics of which still necessitate resolution.

Umerov conveyed positive expectations that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be capable of traveling to Washington prior to the conclusion of November to complete the arrangement.

“The Ukrainian side has given their consent to a truce agreement. There are a few minor particulars that require consensus, but they’ve accepted a settlement of peace,” a U.S. functionary shared with CBS News.

CBS News further reports that this information surfaced while US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll was in Abu Dhabi for a session with Russian representatives.

Oleg Shamshur, previous ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, cautions in the piece “Trump's 28 Points: How to Sell Ukraine”: true tranquility necessitates not the relinquishing of interests, but firm assurances and a courageous European stance. Otherwise, present-day “peace blueprints” might not conclude the hostilities, but instigate their European continuation.
