Erika Kirk mentioned that Turning Point's backing of Vice President JD Vance in a prospective 2028 presidential campaign is "under development."

Kirk, the partner of the deceased conservative advocate Charlie Kirk, conveyed the remarks to Megyn Kelly during her broadcast in Glendale, Arizona, this past weekend.

"That was the very subject my husband was quite clear on, it was, oddly enough, among the final few dialogues we had was just how determined he felt about endorsing JD for 28," Kirk informed Kelly.

Kirk's assertions arise as Vance has assumed a greater position in disseminating Turning Point's message following Charlie Kirk's passing.

The 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder and noted champion of President Donald Trump was fatally shot in September while addressing a crowd near a "Prove Me Wrong" booth on the college grounds in Orem, approximately 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.

In October, Vance went to the University of Mississippi, undertaking Charlie Kirk’s tour of American universities by giving addresses and participating in a Q&A session with students in Oxford. Shortly after Charlie's demise, Vance oversaw a segment of Kirk's podcast showcasing figures from the Trump administration who recounted their recollections of the late conservative figure.

It shouldn’t be surprising, however, that the Turning Point institution is operating in the background to bolster a conceivable Vance presidential endeavor. The vice president has spoken extensively about how Charlie Kirk advocated for his selection as Trump's running mate.

Despite Vance having not undertaken any considerable stride toward a 2028 presidential bid, he indicated to Fox News in a recent discussion that he's presently dedicated to his role as vice president and the 2026 congressional elections but will confer with President Trump to deliberate the likelihood of a candidacy following next year's election.

“We will secure victory in the midterms, to the best of our abilities, and consequently, I'm going to engage in discussion with the president and consult with him about it," Vance expressed earlier this month.
