In addition to long-service and disability pensions, military personnel in Ukraine are entitled to a special pension supplement of almost 600 hryvnias – this applies to participants in hostilities.

Thus, veterans can apply for a pension after reaching the age of 55 with at least 25 years of insurance experience. For women, the conditions are slightly different. The right to payments appears from the age of 50, if they have at least 20 years of experience.
In addition, each veteran is provided with a monthly supplement to the basic pension. Its amount is established by Article 12 of the relevant law – it is 25% of the subsistence minimum for disabled citizens.

In 2025, this amount is 590 hryvnias. It is important that this payment is accrued regardless of what type of pension the veteran receives – age, disability, or other.
At the same time, the amount of the pension for combatants depends on both the insurance experience acquired and the earnings from which insurance premiums were paid.
The total amount of the pension for this category of recipients, taking into account all allowances and increases, must be no less than UAH 5,528. If its amount is lower, a monthly targeted pension allowance is paid in the amount that is insufficient to reach the specified level.

Thus, even with a minimum pension, combatants will receive additional financial support from the state.
