Pension reduction fourfold: who is at risk and when

While some pensioners may receive a 600 hryvnia bonus, others may face a 4-fold reduction in their pension — up to 25% of the amount of the payment. However, for this to happen, it is necessary to switch to full state provision.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

As reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, while a pensioner is on full state support in the relevant institution, he is paid 25 percent of the assigned pension. If the amount of his pension exceeds the cost of maintenance, the difference between the pension and the cost of maintenance is paid, but not less than 25 percent of the assigned pension.

At the same time, if a pensioner who is in a relevant institution on full state support has disabled family members who are dependent on him, the pension is paid in the following order: 25 percent of the pension is paid to the pensioner himself, and part to the specified family members. However, there are exceptions to the “25% rule”:

– orphans – for the period of full state support, the survivor's pension is paid in full and transferred to their current bank accounts;

– other children who are fully dependent on the state receive 50% of the assigned survivor's pension, which is transferred to their current bank accounts;

– persons who receive a pension for special merit and are fully supported by the state in the relevant institution, the pension for special merit is paid at 100%.

Meanwhile, as “FACTY” reported, inspections of pensioners who receive special pension supplements will begin in 8 regions.
