In addition to large-scale assistance of 19.4 thousand hryvnias from the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), residents of frontline regions can also receive money to pay utility bills from their home country.

This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy.
In particular, starting in October, families living in war zones or at risk of war will be compensated for 100 kilowatts of electricity per family member. This amounts to up to 432 hryvnias per person and a maximum of 1,296 hryvnias per household.
This assistance is maintained as long as the family lives in a dangerous area and is eligible for a subsidy or benefit. However, if the family evacuates, loses its beneficiary status, or the settlement is declared safe or occupied, payments are terminated.
The Ministry of Social Policy immediately warned that the program is valid only for those who pay their bills conscientiously.

The support is targeted, and in the case of debts, it may be canceled, the ministry noted.
“In this way, the state is trying to at least partially reduce the financial burden for those living near the war unleashed by Russia. This is another step so that people can stay in their homes and at the same time have at least a minimum guarantee of warmth and light in everyday life,” the ministry explained.
We remind you that more than 68 thousand Kyiv residents received the right to payments under the city program “Support for Kyiv residents – defenders of Ukraine.”
