Meghan Markle showed new photos of her daughter Lilibet and addressed girls around the world

Meghan Markle has celebrated International Day of the Girl with new tender shots of her daughter Lilibet on Instagram. In the first short clip, four-year-old Lily — barefoot, in a pale pink outfit — is seen speeding across a lawn, her long red hair tied back in a neat ponytail, playing in the wind.

In another photo, a quiet mother-daughter moment by the stream. Meghan holds Lily's hand and smiles at her as if the whole world has narrowed down to this little palm. The Duchess is wearing a white blouse and white pants, her hair tied in a careless bun, and sunglasses on top. Lily is wearing a bright pink T-shirt and light pink leggings, with a funny pink handbag on her wrist. Simplicity, a minimum of gloss and a maximum of warmth – the shots clearly show the main thing: two girls in the Sussex family, a little one and an adult, celebrating their day together.

In her caption, the Duchess wrote: “To all girls, this world belongs to you. Do everything you can to protect your rights, use your voice, support each other. We will do the same for you. It is your right and our responsibility. Go girls! Happy International Day of the Girl.”

Although the Duchess has been sharing more photos of her children recently, she has always kept their faces hidden online. Meghan has made rare comments about social media and her children.

“Our children, Archie and Lily, are only 6 and 4 years old,” she said. “Imagine? Luckily, they're still too young for social media.”

She continued, “But we know this day will come. And like many parents, we constantly think about how to harness the benefits of technology while protecting against its dangers. And this hopeful attempt at separation is quickly becoming impossible.”
