A salvage team says tech tycoon Mike Lynch's sunken superyacht is expected to be raised from the ocean floor by the end of June after the wreckage is collected.
The Sicilian Maritime and Investigation Services have approved the final recovery plan after a detailed survey of the seabed and the sunken ship itself.
The stern of Bayesian will be temporarily lifted using Hebo Lift 10, one of the most powerful offshore cranes in Europe, allowing the team to install the straps needed to fully lift the yacht later this month.
The vessel is scheduled to be raised to the surface around June 26, barring further delays.
The lift was originally planned for last month, but salvage efforts were delayed after the tragic death of a diver during underwater operations on May 9, leading to increased use of remotely operated equipment.
To lift the 56-metre vessel, eight steel slings will be attached underneath it, with four messenger cables already running under the front.
The 72-metre mast will be removed using specialist cutting tools and the yacht will be uprighted and lifted using a special system of steel cables.
