The fact is that since October, the basic cash assistance program has been expanded in Ukraine, thanks to which some citizens, in particular pensioners, will be able to receive additional payments. As reported by the Pension Fund, you can submit an application both at service centers and online – through the “Diya” portal.

The pilot project started back in July, but since the beginning of October, the number of recipients has increased.

If previously only low-income families, single mothers, large families, and guardians of children whose parents evade paying alimony could apply for payments, now two more categories have received the right to financial support – people with disabilities and citizens who are not entitled to a pension and receive state social assistance.

The amount of payments will depend on the family composition and its income. For the first family member, 100% of the basic amount is provided – 4,500 UAH, for each child under 18 years of age and for persons with disabilities of groups I-II – the same amount. For other family members, 70% of the basic amount is calculated.

Individuals who have reached retirement age but have not accumulated sufficient insurance experience may also qualify for benefits. The amount is determined by the number of years worked:

  • less than 10 years old — 2385 UAH (53%);
  • from 10 to 20 years old — 2790 UAH (62%);
  • from 20 to 30 years old — 3150 UAH (70%);
  • over 30 years old — 3960 UAH (88%).

“The new rules are designed to strengthen social protection for Ukrainians who are left without a stable source of income,” the publication emphasizes.

As a reminder, the people's deputies have found a way to actually increase the pensions of Ukrainians by 75%. This method was described by the head of the Rada committee, Danylo Hetmantsev.
