Car Bomb Hits Convoy of Eastern Libyan Military Commander - Reports

According to security officials, a car bomb hit the convoy of the chief of staff of the Eastern Libyan troops outside Benghazi.

Abdel-Razeq Nathouri came from Benghazi in the small Eastern town of al Marj, when the convoy was hit by an explosion about 20 miles from Benghazi.

Nathouri is the head of the military headquarters run by Khalifa Haftar, the head of the Libyan National army.

No further information was provided, although the AFP news Agency said that the commander managed to survive an assassination attempt.
