The initiative to limit the level of salaries for officials was not supported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
During the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Svyrydenko, in response to a question from MP Heorhiy Mazurash regarding the proposal to limit salaries for officials to UAH 80,000, stated that high-level specialists should receive a decent salary.

“Regarding your question about salary caps. It seems to me that if we want to have high-level specialists who will work for the state, they should receive a decent salary, the amount of which depends on what kind of body it is, what kind of state-owned enterprise it is,” Svyrydenko said.
It should be noted that in Ukraine, the highest salaries are received by employees of state regulatory commissions and antimonopoly bodies. The average salary in ministries is 50 thousand hryvnias.
