Working a year longer, despite having reached retirement age, allows for an increase in benefits by up to 10 percent – this is how Marlena Maląg, former Minister of Family, encouraged people to work longer. The ministry encouraged this with a system of incentives, i.e. PIT-0. However, as soon as she reached retirement age, she applied to ZUS to start paying benefits.
Marlena Maląg's latest financial declaration shows that she reached retirement age in November and began receiving benefits. Last year, she received PLN 14,585.16 in retirement benefits. If divided into two months, it is possible that she receives almost PLN 7.8 thousand – reports “Fakt”. To this must also be added the severance payment she received from the City Office in Ostrów Wielkopolski. This is an amount of over PLN 58 thousand.
This does not mean, however, that these are her only incomes. Marlena Maląg was elected to the European Parliament by PiS. Her current salary is 10,927.44 euros, which after deducting taxes and contributions is around 8.1 thousand euros. When her term ends, the European pension will be added to the Polish pension in the amount of around 8 thousand PLN gross per month.
Last year, as Minister of Family, she earned PLN 24,863.54 gross. Additionally, for sitting on the Sejm benches, she received a total of PLN 76,886.89 as part of her parliamentary salary and allowance.
