What cars do Ukrainians put HBO on?
In July 2025, 1,229 conversions of passenger cars to run on gas were registered at the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This figure increased by 16.8% compared to June last year, but at the same time it is significantly less, by 41.8%, than the number of conversions in July 2024.
This is reported by Delo.ua, citing data from the Institute for Auto Market Research.
Analysts noted that despite the increase in gas prices, which at the beginning of the year reached 37 UAH/l and are now about 34.4 UAH/l, drivers are still looking for ways to save on fuel and are deciding to install gas cylinder equipment (GCB).
Top 10 brands from HBO
Among the brands that were most often equipped with LPG equipment, Toyota is the leader . This is because many of their models have naturally aspirated engines that are easily adapted for LPG.
Also at the top of the list are Jeep, Hyundai and Nissan , mostly American versions with similar engines. At the same time, VAZ , which used to be among the leaders, is gradually leaving the ranking as the number of these cars in Ukraine decreases.

Top 10 models with HBO
Among individual models, the Nissan Rogue took the lead — a typical “American” with a “naturally” engine, as did a number of other models that made it onto the slide. In general, the “Americans” here are diluted by the Skoda Octavia (earlier versions, with MPI family engines), as well as the Volkswagen Golf and Renault Megane , and about half of the “Passats” that did not arrive in our country from overseas.
Recall that in the first half of 2025, Ukrainians purchased almost 33 thousand new passenger cars. Of these, 22.5 thousand were sold to private buyers, and 10.4 thousand to legal entities. Compared to the same period in 2024, demand from individuals increased by 5%, while the corporate sector showed a decline of 10%.
