Lviv region leads in electric vehicle registrations / Ukravtoprom
During the initial nine months of 2023, Ukraine’s automotive pool expanded by nearly 56,000 electric-powered vehicles (BEV).

Leading 5 regions in terms of electric car registrations:
- Lviv oblast – 7,887 vehicles (91% pre-owned);
- Kyiv city – 7,045 vehicles (61% pre-owned);
- Kyiv oblast – 4,870 vehicles (70% pre-owned);
- Dnipropetrovsk oblast – 4,456 vehicles (73% pre-owned);
- Odesa oblast – 3,178 vehicles (73% pre-owned).
Frontrunners among new electric cars
Across the markets of Kyiv, Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa regions, the BYD Song Plus proved to be the most sought-after model.
Contrarily, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, shoppers showed a greater preference for the Volkswagen ID.4.
Concerning the category of used vehicles brought in from other countries, the most commonly registered were:
- Tesla Model Y – in Kyiv, Kyiv oblast, and Dnipropetrovsk oblast;
- Tesla Model 3 – in Lviv oblast;
- Nissan Leaf – in the Odesa oblast.
It’s worth mentioning that in September, vehicles with traditional combustion engines accounted for approximately 47% of the new passenger vehicle market, with electric vehicles contributing to a third of September’s sales.
