Chinese BYD confidently holds the lead in the Ukrainian market / Wikipedia
The Ukrainian car fleet has been replenished since the beginning of 2025 8,600 new electric passenger cars. During On August 1, 1966 new BEV passenger cars were registered for the first time, which became a new record for the Ukrainian market.

Leadership in Chinese brands
According to analysts, electric cars of Chinese brands are confidently holding the lead in the Ukrainian market. The leader is the BYD brand, which is confidently increasing sales.
Second place went to Honda . Volkswagen came in third, largely thanks to the ID Unix model, which quickly gained popularity in the Ukrainian market.
The IDA emphasizes that currently buyers are actively looking at new brands, evaluating their technological capabilities and design along with traditional reliability criteria. At the same time, the statistics of Honda, VW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz are partly formed by cars “relocated” from China, which are produced for the domestic market under local brands, and arrive in Ukraine with the emblems of companies known in Europe.
The most popular models
In August, the leader among new electric vehicles in Ukraine was again BYD Song Plus with 384 registrations. The second position, with a noticeable lag (212 cars), was taken by the Volkswagen ID. Unix, which also comes from China. Third on the list Honda e:NS1.
Analysts note that such results clearly show how much China influences the segment of new electric vehicles in Ukraine .
Electric vehicle market
According to the results of August 2025, the total volume of the electric vehicle segment (including cars, trucks and buses) amounted to a record 11.5 thousand units, which is 12.5% more than in July of this year and 22.5% more than last year's figures for August 2024.
The largest regional markets for the sale of electric vehicles in Ukraine there were the city of Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Lviv regions.
