Simone Inzaghi has refused to confirm whether he will coach Inter Milan at the Club World Cup after suffering disappointment in the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons.
Inzaghi witnessed Inter's thrashing in Munich on Saturday as Paris Saint-Germain ran riot to win 5-0.
Inter were on course for a treble in April, but a semi-final exit in the Coppa Italia was followed by a Serie A title defeat to Napoli, and their last chance of a trophy disappeared in the final at the Allianz Arena, where the build-up to the match was closely linked to Inzaghi's possible move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Asked whether he would manage Inter at the Club World Cup in America, which starts in two weeks, Inzaghi replied: “As I told your colleague, I cannot answer this question now. I came here out of respect for you, out of politeness, because it hurts me from a sporting point of view.
“Now is not the time to discuss the future. We are extremely disappointed and since July last year we have played 58 or 59 games, reached this final, so it is awkward to talk about my future now.
“We are extremely disappointed again. We will talk about not winning any trophies this year, but these players deserve a lot of credit because they gave everything they had and we had a lot of injuries. I wouldn't change these players for anyone else.”
Despite no guarantees over his future, Inzaghi has expressed his support for Inter as they bounce back from a record defeat in the European final.
