Mayo boss Kevin McStay recovering after 'medical episode' in training

Mayo manager Kevin McStay is recovering from a 'medical incident' during training on Saturday.

The 63-year-old man is currently under medical observation in hospital following the incident, the Irish Examiner reports.

McStay recently led Mayo to two finals – the Division 1 final and the Connacht final.

Mayo suffered a defeat at Kerry in March and lost to Galway in Castlebar earlier this month.

Mayo face Tyrone in Omagh next Saturday before a match with Donegal at a neutral venue on June 14 or 15.

Kevin McStay, a member of the Ballina Stephenites Club, was previously a lieutenant colonel in the Defence Forces.
