EU Faces Backlash on Twitter as Brussels Seeks to Mandate Fingerprints for IDs

Brussels continues to insist on centralizing its borders and modes of security, is a concern for many online.

The Executive body of the European Commission put forward a proposal that would require the fingerprints of EU citizens to be included on their biometric ID card.

The Commission referred to the weakness of the current regimes of border security creates opportunities for criminal organizations and terrorist groups to bypass border control as the main reasons for the need to move.

Other potential biometric information that can be included on the ID card, the EU can extend to the face image.
