Police in Los Angeles say, worth $700,000 counterfeit cosmetics seized from traffickers in the center of the fashion district have a positive result for bacteria, lead and traces of animal feces.
Officials said Monday that the investigation began after customers complained of rashes and other skin irritations from the use of counterfeit mascara, lipsticks and shadows.
The seized products include the dummy version of cosmetics are urban decay, Mac, cosmetics Kylie Kylie Jenner and others.
Officer Norma Eisenman says at least six people received citations during raids at 21 places last week.
Officials warn that if the price of the product seems too good to be true, it probably is.
