During the third trimester of 2025, Ukrainians formally presented as a gift 9,686 passenger vehicles. The average age of these automobiles is 11 years, signaling the prevalence of the pre-owned vehicle sector.

The “gifted” automobile market is usually family-centered; in most instances, vehicles are transferred among relatives or close acquaintances.
In July, Ukrainians gave away 3,200 automobiles; in August, the count rose to 3,286 units, marking the highest outcome for the trimester. In September, the quantity of gifted vehicles once more reached approximately 3,200 units.

Most popular brands
Volkswagen took the leading position among cars given as gifts – 1,053 vehicles. BMW secured the second spot with 895 cars, followed by Toyota (747), Audi (703), and Mercedes-Benz (609). The most sought-after brands in the top ten also included Skoda, Ford, Opel, Nissan, and Renault.
Popular models
The most typical items given as presents were:
- Volkswagen Passat — 263 cars;
- Skoda Octavia — 243;
- Toyota Camry — 188.
The lineup also features the BMW 5 Series, BMW X5, Volkswagen Golf, and Audi A6 – models that consistently maintain their positions in the used market.
Elite segment
Among the automobiles gifted were also luxury brands. Specifically, the handing over of 6 Bentleys, 9 Maseratis, as well as 2 Rolls-Royces and 2 Aston Martins was documented.
Exceptional vehicles also made an appearance in the records. In particular, the 1958 AZLK-402 stands out as one of the most vintage automobiles gifted during the referenced period.
Besides cars, Ukrainians also gave away 1,014 lorries, more than 200 motorcycles, and 85 buses in three months.
It is worth highlighting that the formal act of gifting a vehicle has grown into a widespread approach for transferring ownership. Last year, Ukrainians utilized this avenue 38,685 times, establishing a new high. This figure is ten times greater than the number in 2023, when merely 3,790 cars were gifted, and almost 20 times greater than in 2022, during which 1,977 cars were gifted.
