Serhiy Leshchenko, a member of the Supervisory Council at Ukrzaliznytsia, was summoned to the Verkhovna Rada in connection with the initiative involving 3,000 km of complimentary journeys . This proposition garnered backing from 150 people’s representatives, as reported by Yaroslav Zheleznyak from Holos.

“At my instigation, a member of the UZ Supervisory Council, Serhiy Leshchenko, has been called to the assembly hall tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to present a report on UZ-3000. Successfully securing 150 votes out of the necessary 150. He is required to address this showmanship and the requirement for financing,” Zheleznyak stated.

It was conveyed that UZ-3000 constitutes a component of the so-called winter aid, the entire plan of which President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to be formulated by November 15. Regarding the explicit involvement of Ukrzaliznytsia, the objective of the related scheme is to afford Ukrainians the chance to journey by rail for distances reaching up to 3 thousand kilometers at no cost. According to UZ’s own statements, this measure will enable individuals to see their family members, encounter with defenders, or enjoy leisure time with children at summer camps.

Concurrently, as Bohdan Danylyshyn mentioned in the piece “ 100 Days of the Svyrydenko Government: Between Stabilization and Stagnation “, he emphasized that the budgetary shortfall surpasses 20% of the GDP, accompanied by a pronounced reliance on external credit and support. Moreover, the budget generally remains largely consumer-oriented: priority is placed on social welfare, rather than stimulating production. Grant programs intended for small businesses frequently exhibit a populist character, without generating actual employment opportunities.
