In October of 2025, vehicles of European and American origin that are old, possessing sizable naturally aspirated engines, were predominantly switched to run on gas. This move serves as both a cost-saving measure and the sole viable means of rendering the operation of engines exceeding 2.5–3 liters in capacity economically justifiable.
This is according to Delo.ua, citing assessments from analysts at the Auto Market Research Institute.
Throughout this year, the market for gas system installations has displayed consistent but moderate growth (1,000–1,200 setups each month). While previously, the primary motivator was the nearly twofold reduction in fuel costs, the current financial difference is less marked.

Analysts suggest that the marginal cost variance between LPG and gasoline diminishes the appeal of LPG. This issue is further intensified by the widespread adoption of direct injection engines, which pose installation challenges and increased expenses for gas equipment. Furthermore, the advent of electric vehicles presents a more cutting-edge resolution for economizing on fuel expenses.
As a reminder, in September, the nation's vehicular pool witnessed an augmentation of excess of 12.6 thousand passenger vehicles powered by gasoline. This figure denotes a 27% surge compared to the preceding annum.
