Ex-German Foreign Minister Gabriel Under Fire for Supporting Nord Stream 2

German tabloid Bild attacked, Sigmar Gabriel, in his speech after resignation as foreign Minister. According to the politician, he advocated a “balanced German attitude” to Russia.

Former Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, has attracted attention for his statement on the 25th anniversary of the German-Russian forum, a non-governmental organization that promotes the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. German tabloid Bild claims that the former Cabinet Minister dancing to the tune of Moscow, criticizing him for both involved and his opinion on different subjects concerning Russia’s foreign policy. Bild also attacked his position on Russia’s role in the Syrian peace process, as Gabriel sees Moscow as a key player at the end of the violence. The newspaper claimed that his position was too Pro-Kremlin, and attacked his assertion that the talks in Astana and Sochi was a step towards the implementation of the Geneva agreements.
