In 2025, Ukrainians aged 60 and over who have at least 32 years of insurance experience will be able to retire. The draft budget also provides for a number of “age” allowances, the most famous of which is 944.40 hryvnias.

In addition, the draft budget for 2026 provides for an increase in payments for pensioners living in zones of unconditional and guaranteed voluntary resettlement after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.
Such payments will be available to non-working pensioners who permanently reside in these zones. Due to the increase in the minimum pension, the amount of their payments will increase from UAH 2,391 to UAH 2,595 — a small but pleasant increase.
It is noted that those citizens who lived or worked in contaminated areas during the accident on April 26, 1986 or before January 1, 1993 and received the official status of victims of the disaster will be entitled to payment.

Who is not eligible for a surcharge?
At the same time, the allowance does not apply to pensioners who left the resettlement zone after the accident and later returned, or who registered there after 1986. If a person leaves the territory or gets a job outside the zone, payments will be terminated. Control over compliance with the rules will be carried out through state registers – demographic and social insurance.
As is known, monthly supplements were introduced for pensioners living in the Chernobyl zone at the end of 2024. As of April 2024, about 639 thousand Ukrainian pensioners had the status of victims.
