Russian missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv killed at least 13 people overnight, including a 6-year-old boy, and injured 132 others, authorities said.
According to the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Service, among the 14 injured children was a five-month-old girl.
It is the largest number of children injured in a single attack on Kyiv since Russia's invasion began three years ago, according to open-source data reviewed by The Associated Press.
The head of the city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, noted that as a result of the shelling, a significant part of the nine-story residential building collapsed.
Rescue teams searched for people trapped under the rubble.
Yana Zhabborova, 35, a resident of the damaged building, was awakened by loud explosions that blew out the doors and windows in her apartment.
“It's just stress and horror that there's nothing left,” she said, a mother of a 5-month-old and a 5-year-old.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 309 Shahid drones and decoy drones, as well as eight Iskander-K cruise missiles, overnight. Air defense forces were able to intercept and suppress 288 attack drones and three missiles, while five missiles and 21 drones reached their targets.
The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadim Filashkin, reported that Russian troops also attacked a five-story residential building in the city of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine.
One person was killed and at least 11 were injured, he said.
