As experts warned, with the onset of cold weather, the season for cheap vegetables seems to have finally passed, and lovers of rich borscht will have to pay an additional five to six hryvnias on top of the current price for vegetables by the end of the month.

This forecast was announced for the publication News. LIVE by the General Director of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Pavlo Koval.
In his opinion, we should expect a price increase for vegetables from the borscht set. That is, you will have to pay more in October for:
- carrots;
- beet;
- onion;
- cabbage;
- garlic.
The farmer added that the period when you can still stock up on leftovers for the winter is now ending.

According to the expert, relatively dry weather is still prevailing in some regions, and farmers have “thrown” many of their stocks onto the market – almost the entire range, so in some regions you can buy products, because they will only become more expensive in the future.
Farmers also share information that another component of the borscht set will become more expensive this fall – meat. Thus, according to the head of the analytical direction of the ANTS network Ilya Neskhodovsky, the cost will be affected by feed prices, as well as a reduction in the number of cattle. The expert predicts that the cost of meat will not increase by tens of percent, but if compared year to year, prices will increase.
As a reminder, “FACTS” wrote that tomatoes were added to the price — in some cases, the price of tomatoes increased by 50%.
