Washington (Sputnik) – US attorney General Jeff sessions told the us attorney office for the South-Western border of the new “zero tolerance” policy for those entering the United States after the Department of homeland security reported a 203 per cent growth in illegal border crossing during the month of March, the Ministry of justice said in a press release.
“Attorney General Jeff sessions today will be shared with all us attorneys offices along the southwest border to the new policy of “zero tolerance” to offenses under 8 U. S. C. § 1325(a), which prohibits attempting illegal entry and illegal entry into the United States by a foreigner,” the release said.
Those who prosecute people who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border need to escalate their efforts, sessions, quoted in the release.
“For those who wish to challenge the trump card of the administration’s commitment to public safety, national security, law and order, warning: illegal entry in this country will not be rewarded, but instead be made with full authority of the Department of justice,” sessions added.
On Thursday, the presidents, Donald trump told reporters that between 2000 and 4000 members of the National guard will be deployed to the US border with Mexico to support the border guards while the wall is being built between the two countries.
On Wednesday, the organizers of the so-called caravan, the flow of migrants from Central America crossing Mexico to the US border, reported that they end up in Mexico city, because the group size was difficult to travel. However, according to some estimates, about 200 people will make their way to the US border.
Caravans have become an annual educational event aimed at drawing global attention to the problems in their home countries.
