Man Accused of Stealing Flowers from Ozzy Osbourne Funeral

A man has been charged with stealing flowers left in Birmingham for Ozzy Osbourne.

Thousands of tributes, including balloons, cards and flowers, were left at the Black Sabbath bench on Broad Street and next to the mural on Navigation Street in the musician's hometown following his death.

The Black Sabbath frontman, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, died on July 22 at the age of 76 from a heart attack.

West Midlands Police said they were alerted to a theft on Broad Street, where the Black Sabbath bench is located, and arrested a man on August 2 after investigations were completed.

Police said Parviz Jafari, 45, was charged with stealing flowers and will appear before magistrates on September 3.

Birmingham City Council on Monday collected donations left at the Black Sabbath bench, which will be given to the Osborne family.

Last Wednesday, the heavy metal star's family viewed his body during a procession that saw his hometown give his body a final farewell.
