Former Australia cricketer Stuart McGill has been found guilty of involvement in the supply of cocaine in Sydney.
The 54-year-old former spin bowler, who played 44 Test matches for Australia and took 208 wickets, has pleaded not guilty to all charges relating to his involvement in the supply of a banned substance.
The charge was based on the fact that in April 2021 he brought together one drug dealer with another person.
On Thursday, a jury in the NSW District Court heard that while McGill's involvement was limited to introductions, the dealer was also involved in two other alleged deliveries.
McGill is expected to return to court in May for sentencing.
The former cricketer made headlines in 2021 when he was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and threatened with a gun before being released.
NSW Police have arrested and charged four men in connection with the incident.
McGill's international career from 1988 to 2008 has been largely overshadowed by that of his compatriot Shane Warne, who is second on the all-time list of Test cricket wicket-takers.
