In August, cars with conventional engines accounted for about 49% of the new passenger car market. Last year, this figure was almost 63%.
This is reported by Delo.ua with reference to data from Ukravtoprom.
According to analysts, models with gasoline engines remain the most popular in Ukraine, accounting for 32.3% of August new car sales, compared to 40.8% last year.
In second place are electric vehicles , whose share increased from 14.3% to 27.9%.
Instead, hybrids captured 23.4% of the market, up from 22.4% in August 2024.
The share of diesel cars decreased from 22.1% to 16.2% over the year.
Cars with HBO, like last year, accounted for less than 1% of new car sales.
Leading positions by segment were occupied by:
- Gasoline cars – Hyundai Tucson;
- Electric – BYD Song Plus;
- Hybrid – Toyota RAV-4;
- Diesel – Toyota Duster;
- Car with HBO – Hyundai Tucson.
We remind you that during August 2025 Ukrainians purchased about 6.8 thousand new passenger cars. This is 16% less than in the same period last year.
In August 2025, the ten most popular models accounted for 30% of the Ukrainian new car market. The bestseller of the month was the compact crossover Renault Duster.
In total, 46 thousand new passenger cars have been registered in the country since the beginning of the year, which is 3% less than last year.
