In August 2025, the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market in Ukraine significantly decreased. Total sales amounted to 3.4 thousand cars, which is 37.3% less than in August 2024 and 4.5% less than in July 2025.

This is reported by Delo.ua with reference to a report by the Institute for Auto Market Research.

LCV market structure in August

The largest share, 60.4%, was in domestic resales; 24.2% were imported used light trucks, 13.4% were new imported, and 2% were produced or re-equipped in Ukraine. The total share of new vehicles was 15.4%.

Domestic market

On the domestic market, the most popular were   cargo vans, which form the basis of the segment. In total, 2,074 purchase and sale transactions took place here for vehicles in this segment.

Import of used

In August 2025, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 832 new LCVs. As before, the most popular choice was imported cargo vans with mileage. In this market, the undisputed leaders remain Renault Master and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which are significantly ahead of other models, in particular Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Crafter and Renault Kangoo.

New sales

In July 2025, 527 new light trucks entered Ukrainian roads for the first time. Of these, 460 were imported, 67 were registered as manufactured (or converted in the factory) in Ukraine. Among the types   Vans have the advantage here, pickup trucks are second in share, and refrigerated vans are third.

Average age   in the secondary market, as of June, the average life expectancy for LCVs was 16.4 years for domestic resales, and 6 years for “freshly driven” cars.

As a reminder, in June 2025, the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment in Ukraine showed a significant decline. According to the Institute for Automotive Market Research, a total of 3.2 thousand such vehicles were purchased – 48.9% less than in the same period last year. Compared to May, a decrease in volumes of 18.5% was also recorded.
