Do you factor this risk into the cost of traveling and using the internet?

Safe Travel Course: Don't Do This When Leaving Home

/

Every trip begins with planning—where we want to go, how we want to stay, and how we'll get there. We look for opportunities and are ready to seize them. And this is where the first traps lie in wait—promotions offered by nonexistent airlines, travel agencies, and hotels masquerading as legitimate.

Okay, at this point you've avoided a slip-up, so you get on board and off you go. Hurray, you're safe! You want to share your excitement with your friends, and often the whole world. Stop. It's not time for champagne yet. Have you considered what geotags, as well as scans of tickets and reservations posted online, might say about you to cybercriminals and common criminals? And what about a selfie recounting your trip? Did you know that photos of your topless kids splashing in the waves will delight… you know who, right? Do you understand they might exploit them?

Every trip is emotional, and it's under their influence that we make the most cyber mistakes. Seemingly minor, yet often overlooked, they can have serious consequences. Anna Kwaśnik, NASK's cybersecurity awareness expert, explains in an interview with Beata Tomaszkiewicz what mistakes we most often make, how criminals exploit them, the risks they pose to us and our loved ones, and how we can protect ourselves from problems. She emphasizes, however, that we're exposed to online threats not only during trips but also in everyday life, and explains when a red flag should go off.

We invite you to the next episode of the podcast ” Course for… cybersafe travel “.
