Published reports say that CEO of Facebook mark Zuckerberg plans to testify before Congress about how his company collects and uses data people.
Citing unnamed sources, CNN said in a report Tuesday that Zuckerberg “come to terms” with the fact that he will have to testify in a matter of weeks. The representative of Facebook said that the company has received invitations to appear before Congress and talk to legislators, but could not confirm the participation of Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg said last week in an interview with CNN that he would be “happy” to testify if he is the right person to do it. The company is facing an unprecedented investigation after reports of mining firm used data obtained by dishonest means, the data of tens of millions of users to try to influence the election.
On Tuesday the press-Secretary of the Committee on energy and Commerce chamber said that reports of confirmed participation Zuckerberg is “wrong”. But she added that the Committee “continues to work with Facebook to determine the day and time for Mr. Zuckerberg to testify.”
