A Kaufland employee dismissed for disciplinary reasons for failing to follow company procedures has just won her court case and will be reinstated. This is yet another defeat for the retail chain in recent disputes with employees.
As OPZZ Confederation of Labor at Kaufland and Biedronka reports on its social media profile, another court case in defense of Kaufland employees has ended in victory.
Unfairly dismissed from work
This time, the District Court in Sosnowiec reinstated Anna Basta, who was employed at a supermarket in Jaworzno.

” She was unfairly dismissed for disciplinary reasons for failing to follow company procedures. During the proceedings, it was revealed that the employees were not familiarized with these procedures by the employer and had no real access to them,” the union wrote on Facebook.
The district court had previously reinstated Anna Basta. However, Kaufland filed an appeal, which was deemed unfounded and dismissed on Friday, August 8, 2025.
– This is another success of our union in defending employees – say the unionists.
Employees triumph
This isn't the first time Kaufland has lost a lawsuit against its employees. Two days ago, the court dismissed the case against Wojciech Jendrusiak, chairman of the OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy (Confederation of Labour) , whom the chain accused of slandering the company's reputation and damaging its image.
Last week, another Kaufland employee, Iwona Graszyńska from the supermarket in Zgorzelec, won compensation from the chain in the District Court in Lubań. According to the court's ruling, she was unfairly dismissed, in violation of the Labor Code and the Trade Union Act. The court awarded her nearly 15,000 PLN in damages.
– Apparently, for the courts, an employee is a human being, and not just a number, as for corporations – summed up Jolanta Żołnierczyk, a member of the board of the OPZZ Confederation of Labor at Kaufland and Biedronka, in an interview with Bankier.pl.
