Initially, due to the difficult market situation, employees were informed that all fixed-term employment contracts expiring in July would not be extended. This affected approximately 650 people. This information, dictated by the company's responsibility and transparency policy, was primarily intended to provide employees with sufficient advance notice to prepare for potential changes,” the company wrote in a statement.

Currently, Eko-Okna employs over 14.5 thousand people .

There will be no more transport for employees

Company representatives also assure that they are continuing to implement a comprehensive cost optimization program. This covers many areas, from reviewing investments and operating costs to eliminating employee transport from September 2025 .

– As part of these steps, we had already decided to increase fees for the use of company cars, which prompted some employees to give up this benefit – says Adam Wita, the company’s spokesman, as quoted by PulsHR.

The company also confirmed the sale of 16 passenger cars and 85 trucks. However, it emphasized that this is only a small portion of the company's total fleet of 1,300 vehicles. This emphasized that this is not a cessation of operations.

At the beginning of July, company employees raised the alarm that Eko-Okna could lay off up to 4,000 employees.
