Charlie Hull moved one step closer to a third LPGA Tour title, beating world No. 1 Gino Titicula by one shot in the final round of the Kroger Queen City Championship.

Hull, who has finished runner-up in her last two world championship starts, recovered from a poor putt on the par-three fifth hole to make six birdies for a 67-5 (minus-5) to move to 16 under and one stroke ahead of Titicul.

Titicul, who won Liberty National in Jersey City in May, is looking to become the LPGA Tour's first multiple winner this season.

AIG Women's Open champion Miyu Yamashita and compatriot Chisato Iwai are tied for third after third-round 66s moved them both two strokes off the lead, with Nelly Korda just three strokes back in pursuit of her first LPGA tournament victory of the season.

A birdie on the final hole left England's Lottie Wood four strokes behind the lead, while US Open women's champion Maia Stark is also 12 strokes behind, with just five strokes separating the top 19 players heading into the final day in Ohio.

“I felt like I played with confidence,” Hull said. “I just kept playing. Played solid and made a great birdie at the end.”

“To be honest, I feel quite relaxed there. I don't even think about tomorrow.

“I just hit the ball, find it and hit it again, you know what I mean?” she added. “I think that's the problem with a lot of golfers – they think too much.”

“It's just a game. Hit the white ball into the pin. Make birdie, par, bogey, whatever, and just move on to the next hole.”
