An important point that millions of people ignore for some reason: never, never will a single person be able to sincerely, with all their heart, love torture. That's how the psyche works, it's the base. But we are all the smartest, everyone thinks: “Others can't do this, because they are stupid, weak-willed, weak little people, and I am a unique, purposeful and damn motivated person.” And with a victorious cry we climb into strict diets, uninteresting relationships (you know what it is: “poor, but ours”, mmm, classic), and, of course, sports.
How does it usually happen with sports? I skipped or sincerely hated even school physical education, threw away my only sneakers after graduation, but the hour came, I decided to lose weight (or work out), and therefore – an unlimited gym membership, a barbell, dumbbells, a treadmill, a bunch of sports clothes and an expensive fitness bracelet at home. To make sure I don’t die.
Motivated by things?
Unfortunately, it is useless. And it is very clear how it works… on children. If you give a small child a new bright toy, he will spin it, be happy and get carried away for several whole minutes. And then do you know what will happen? He will return to his favorite games, and the new thing, even the most expensive and noticeable, risks being sent to the far corner. Especially if the child does not know or does not like the activity for which it is needed. Well, for example, you gave an expensive easel and a set of drawing items or a Lego set from which you can build a spaceship, but the little person does not particularly like drawing or constructing.
Adults are no different from children. They just try to instill useful hobbies in themselves. But disappointment hits quickly and harshly: it turns out that in order to lose weight, it is not enough to click a fitness bracelet, you also have to work hard at training. And new beautiful sports clothes fit so nicely on the same new treadmill…
The principle of reward
That's why, when it comes to sports gadgets, clothes, exercise machines, even a good set of dumbbells, I suggest you stick to the reward rule. You have to earn every item from your sports routine yourself.
Let me explain: the bracelet is not bought just like that, but for 3.5 kilograms lost, for 10 workouts without skipping, for completing the first marathon, for a month without dietary breakdowns, etc. You set the limits, budget, and achievements yourself.
One thing is important here: when you see this new thing, you should feel real pride: this is what I am, know ours! And the brain reads this in one go and releases endorphins: so, guys, let's be proud of ourselves immediately, let's be proud so much that it goes off the charts.
Buying a new wardrobe works in a similar way. That's why it's worth spending money on clothes in a new size when the old ones are starting to fall off, and not when there's a minimal opportunity to pull on pants a size smaller with groans and groans. If you pull on “mice cried and pricked themselves”, the brain doesn't say “look, what a fine fellow”, it perceives it as “the woman had no trouble”, “again something through my e -mine, we lost weight and lost weight, the clothes are still cracking, no use”.
Just like buying a bunch of sports equipment, exercise machines, beautiful things for motivation, it's “we spent the money – now we have to work out”, “obligation”, “get your feet in hand and go, damn it”. But we need it without pancakes, we need it for love!
What is it like, a hat according to Senka?
Attention, here comes a sensation. Most people hate sports with every fiber and gill simply because long ago they themselves or some other not very smart people demanded super-effort, impossible and unnecessary.
How so? Let's take the most typical example: a first-grade physical education lesson. There are 27 people standing in a line, and one of them is fat. And there is only one program. And be kind enough to jump, run, do push-ups. A full range of pleasures! And this unfortunate child literally turns himself inside out to be no worse than the others. He is all red, sweaty, short of breath, but he tries, tries! And what does he hear? Fatty, push yourself! Fat, come on, faster! And if there are team games, who is the last one to be chosen for the team? That's it.
What is the preamble for? Then such a fat guy grows up, gains a bunch of kilograms and suddenly understands that everything is next – diabetes, stroke, fatty hepatosis and other miracles on the bends. He comes to the gym. And, if he is lucky and gets a smart trainer, he understands that he actually loves sports. Because he is given feasible tasks that can really be accomplished without spitting out his lungs, without hating the world! Self-esteem grows and these tasks become more difficult. Slowly, gradually.
That's why the first rule in the matter of “how to get high from sports” is to start small. Go for short walks every evening, do exercises for scoliosis with a ball and a body bar, exercise in the morning. No heroic deeds. For now. And praise yourself, even praise yourself. What a great guy I am, I could have slept for 15 minutes, but I got up and did exercises. A miracle, not a person! Discipline itself! I walk before bed, just a hero! The brain will not miss the chance to praise itself once more.
Comparisons in your favor
A very large group of people who don’t like sports are those unfortunate people whose parents have pestered them all their lives – “Why not an A?”, “You can do better!”, “I don’t care what others wrote, what matters is how you do, and those people have their own mothers!”
In short, these poor guys grow up with the confidence that if they go to the pool for the first time, they must immediately bring home an Olympic gold medal, and if they go to the gym and don’t come back with the title of Mr. Olympia, it was a waste of time.
And there are definitely these others around! Who press, squat, swim, run, tear, push! And what you can do, in comparison with their enormous skills, is so small, pathetic and wrinkled, like spare parts in the cold. It's a shame to show people! Well, if this is the case, then there is no point in trying, and it's all nonsense, not mine!
I know one wildly illustrative example on this topic and, perhaps, I will share it. The story began in a children's sanatorium, where mainly teenagers with noticeable disabilities gathered in the flow. Many with cerebral palsy, with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, with osteogenesis imperfecta, and other serious diagnoses.
Every morning began with a general line-up and exercises. The exercises were conducted by a nurse, who also brought an “assistant” to the center – one of the children who had to demonstrate the exercises in front of the entire group. The exercises were elementary: bends, lunges, twists while standing with a stick behind the shoulders, throwing a ball with a partner. But just imagine how hard it was to do this for a person who could barely stand on his feet! And in front of 60 – 80 peers, many of whom were healthy or almost healthy, giggling and commenting.
This story was told to me by a grown man of 35 years old, a father of two children. He was one of those “barely standing”. And when his health forced him to come to the gym as an adult, he went there through a psychotherapist, because at the very thought that he would “try to portray something”, and other people would see it, he began to choke with real tears.
Therefore: it doesn't matter at all who can do what, I'm the coolest. I can do it! A million people can't and lie on the couch, but I raised my Kardashian and do it. The best in the world. A star.
List of bonuses.
Well, now – a bunch of quite effective tips on how to speed up the process and start experiencing real, unclouded joy from sports.
Favorite music. You can even take it away from yourself temporarily and turn it on only during training. The associative series will work quickly and clearly.
Maximum choice . You need to try everything. Maybe you don't like lifting weights, but swimming or hiking is a blast. Don't be afraid to experiment. Sometimes it turns out that everything is crap, and some kind of boccia or curling is simply the activity of a lifetime and heaven on earth.
Mantras about the benefits of sports. Be sure to keep in mind as much information about the benefits of activity as possible. About longevity, heart health, brain health, clarity of mind and endorphins.
Specific goals . For example, this month I want to lose 3 kg and increase my squats to three sets of ten reps. Realistic, good goals that you can achieve and be really proud of.
Attend sporting events . Sometimes watching other people play and succeed can be a great inspiration for personal achievements.
Well, that's probably all. Be sure to add and share your thoughts about love for sports!
