It was an ominous start for last year’s MVP. He was released under loud cheers and, even in the away match of the player, but was quickly against him as Rashid Khan started to promote your web. Stokes tried to put the bat on Sunrisers leg-spinner, but at least managed to survive.

Used in the upper part of the Mumbai Indians during the greater part of the last two years, Bartlett returned to the middle order of Rajasthan.

He came up with his side in a difficult position and the position became more shaky, and two more wickets fell within two overs.

Butler decided to keep the scoring ticking over for or two working alone, but he disappeared as soon as he tried to accelerate. Rashid Khan seemed to have dragged one a bit smaller, but as the Butler came back to try to pull it, the ball rolled out and took his off stump.

Mark wood was amazed by the atmosphere as his Chennai super kings claimed an incredible win on his debut IPL

The result may be just what he was after, but everything went according to plan for the tree with the ball. He started well enough, but after the first fix, it took a bit of punishment as he tried to nail his Yorkers the end of the match and paid for it.

However, wood is hoping to remedy that when Chennai take on KKR in the first home game of the season on Tuesday.

Verdict: 4/10

The other eight representatives of England had to do this during the first round of fixtures.

Alex Hales was perhaps the most surprising omission, but as Sunrisers thumped Rajasthan on Monday, he and Chris Jordan will probably have to wait a little longer before getting his chance.

Finally, Sam Billings , at least, enjoy the result of his CSK team-mates claimed a thrilling victory over Mumbai Indians in game one. He and wood will join England teammate in the next few days after David Willey agreed Chennai on Monday.
