Bayern Munich have entered competition to sign Chelsea's Xavi Simons, the PA news agency reports.
According to available information, the London club is actively negotiating with Simons' club RB Leipzig.
However, Chelsea's talks could be hit by a complication due to interest from German champions Bayern Munich.
Netherlands international Simons is a Barcelona youth product who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.
He spent time at PSV Eindhoven in the 2022–23 season before returning to PSG on a buyout clause.
He spent the 2023-24 season on loan at RB Leipzig before signing a permanent deal in January this year.
Bayern declined to comment on the situation with Simons. Chelsea asked for clarification.
Chelsea's deal for Simons could also reportedly involve a move in the opposite direction for Carney Chukwuemeka.
Chukwuemeka spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea have already signed striker Joao Pedro from Brighton for a reported £60million, as well as Jamie Gittens from Dortmund.
Noni Madueke has left the Blues to join Arsenal, while goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is another player to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
