Moscow (Sputnik) – the number of Facebook accounts available in collection scandal may be much higher than 87 million, and leakage of information can be stored in different parts of the world, including Russia, the whistleblower for the abuse scandal, said in an interview with NBC news.

“There is a real danger that these data were available quite a lot of people and they can be stored in different parts of the world, including Russia, given the fact that the Professor who was managing the data collection process went back and forth between the UK and Russia,” – Christopher Wiley, a former employee of the Cambridge analyst (CA) and the whistleblower for the abuse scandal, said in an interview.

He also did not rule out that the number of affected users, Facebook can be as high as 87 million. However, Wiley noted that it was difficult to verify the exact number because the data was a “thing” and as soon as he got out of your system and database, it would be possible to make as many copies.

Wylie said in the UK house of Commons in late March that the canadian AggregateIQ (in) analytical data of the firms allegedly linked to SA, participated in Pro-quarter and the month of the campaign, and also worked on software that helped the Republican party to expand its voter base.

Cambridge analyst, in turn, said that Wiley was incomplete and the contractor has left the company in July 2014, so he had no direct knowledge of the company’s work with.

In March it became known that personal information about 50 million users Facebook was collected in a Cambridge consulting firm analyst without their permission. While working for major political campaigns, the firm gathered information to develop a mechanism that could predict and influence the behavior of voters in the United States. Earlier this week Facebook estimated number of users affected about 87 million, mainly located in the United States.
