A prominent Trump supporter asserts a U.S. grand jury has been assembled in Florida that will commence its sessions in January to probe what he characterizes as a decade-spanning scheme against President Donald Trump.

In a string of discussions with right-leaning content creators throughout the past week, conservative legal expert Mike Davis — a trusted associate and unofficial advisor to Attorney General Pam Bondi and other leading Trump administration members — has stated that the grand jury will evaluate whether to levy criminal charges against prominent Democratic figures who Davis alleges collaborated over the past decade to hinder Trump, initiating with the inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 election through the legal proceedings against the president.

"I've been advocating for this publicly for three years. I'm determined to ensure that these lawfare Democrats are imprisoned during President Trump's second term," Davis mentioned to conservative personality Benny Johnson on Friday.

While Davis does not hold an official government role, official records substantiate that a federal judge last month mandated a grand jury to be established in Fort Pierce, Florida, commencing in January at the request of the Trump administration.

A spokesperson from the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida did not promptly acknowledge a request for feedback regarding the grand jury’s purpose.

A conservative lawyer who was instrumental in guiding Trump's candidates through the Supreme Court approval process, Davis now leads the Article III Project, an entity that portrays itself as dedicated to assisting in "combating leftist lawfare to safeguard the rule of law."

Trump has recently urged the indictment of several of the same figures Davis accuses of employing lawfare to target him.

"They defrauded and manipulated the 2020 Presidential Election," Trump posted on social media Saturday. "These extreme Left radicals must be prosecuted for their unlawful and highly unscrupulous conduct!"

Trump has not yet commented on Davis' statements on the conservative podcasts.

During an interview on "The Charlie Kirk Show," Davis stated his "friend" Jason Quiñones — the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida — initiated the grand jury’s empanelment after Davis "advocated strongly" to scrutinize what he describes as a conspiracy against Trump.

Davis has implied that prominent figures, including former Attorney General Merrick Garland, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, FBI Director Chris Wray, and Special Counsel Jack Smith, should be obligated to testify before the grand jury to respond to inquiries regarding what Davis alleges is the politically motivated utilization of the legal system.

Quiñones and representatives from the Southern District of Florida did not immediately respond to ABC News' requests for feedback.

Davis has contended that the former Biden administration personnel and others contravened a section of federal statute, identified as 18 U.S.C. § 241, by colluding to obstruct federally safeguarded rights.

Established in reaction to a surge in brutality during the Reconstruction era following the Civil War, the legislation has customarily been employed to defend the civil liberties of Black Americans, although prosecutors have broadened its application to encompass more extensive election-related and police-misconduct offenses.

Notably, Trump was accused of breaching the statute after he purportedly endeavored to subvert the outcomes of the 2020 election, though the case was dismissed following his triumph in the 2024 election.

Davis asserts that a broad spectrum of actions — encompassing the FBI's inquiries into Russian intervention in the 2016 election and the Jan. 6 insurrection — were synchronized endeavors by Democrats to impede and ultimately imprison Trump.

Davis additionally contends that the criminal and civil actions against Trump, supposed issues with Trump's Secret Service protection leading up to two assassination attempts last year, and the initiatives to eliminate Trump from the ballot in 2024 could also constitute transgressions of federal law.

"They pushed the nation to the limit. They sought to bankrupt Trump through non-fraudulent means. They attempted to incarcerate him four times for non-crimes. They endeavored to unconstitutionally remove him from the ballot in Colorado and elsewhere. They tried to eliminate him when Joe Biden underfunded Trump's Secret Service detail, asserted he posed the greatest threat to democracy, and effectively placed a target on Trump," Davis conveyed on Friday on the Johnson podcast.

With certain Republican senators now expressing apprehension regarding the extent of the federal probe into the endeavor to overturn the results of the 2020 election — including the subpoenaing of phone records of numerous senators — Davis has asserted he possesses sufficient backing to execute a far-reaching inquiry.

"There's currently a special grand jury that Jason [Quiñones] just petitioned the court and the Southern District of Florida to inaugurate in Fort Pierce. It's slated to be empaneled in January. I believe that seems like an excellent locale to commence this grand jury concerning Crossfire Hurricane and against these lawfare Democrats," Davis remarked Friday.

The setting for the grand jury in Fort Pierce's federal courthouse holds familiarity for Trump and his allies — it's the identical courthouse where he attended several hearings in his criminal case for purportedly retaining classified documents and obstructing justice. Davis alleges the classified documents case, which was dismissed by a federal judge prior to the 2024 election, also forms part of the conspiracy against Trump.

"As I’ve pledged and as I will ensure, justice is undoubtedly imminent," Davis stated Friday on Johnson's podcast.
