According to the health agency, reports indicate that 102 passengers and 13 staff members have become ill thus far, displaying symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting.

As reported by CruiseMapper, the vessel is presently located in the northwest Atlantic Ocean, en route to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Its scheduled arrival at Port Canaveral, Florida, is on May 11.
The CDC indicates that the cruise ship has a total of 3,116 passengers and 1,131 crew members onboard.
In response to the health situation, the vessel and its personnel intensified cleaning and sanitization protocols, segregated those who had become unwell, and gathered stool samples for analysis, as stated by the CDC.
Princess Cruises stated that it could "attest to a limited number of people who reported mild gastrointestinal discomfort during the April 28 Caribbean Princess voyage from Port Everglades."
"We promptly disinfected every area of the vessel and increased sanitization efforts throughout the duration of the voyage," the statement went on to say. "Upon arrival at Port Canaveral on May 11, the Caribbean Princess will be subjected to thorough cleaning and disinfection processes before starting its following journey."
Norovirus is quite typical, particularly on maritime vessels, and bears no connection to the ongoing hantavirus occurrence onboard the MV Hondius cruise liner.
This marks the fourth instance of gastrointestinal ailment reported on a cruise ship thus far in the current year, according to the CDC.
