Ukrainian restaurateur Mykola Oleksiv is convinced that during wartime, businesses cannot remain detached from social processes. The owner of Ukrainian restaurants in Italy has spent many years not only developing his business abroad but also promoting Ukrainian culture, traditions, and supporting charitable initiatives related to Ukraine.
According to the restaurateur, every entrepreneur today should recognize their responsibility not only to customers and employees but also to the country they represent.

“I firmly believe that business is not only about profit. Especially now, when Ukraine is going through the most difficult period of its modern history. Each of us must do what we can. Some help financially, some volunteer, and others promote Ukraine around the world. That is also a very important mission,” Oleksiv noted.
The entrepreneur emphasizes that during his years of work in Italy, he has witnessed a growing interest in Ukraine among foreigners. This is why every restaurant, cultural event, or charitable initiative becomes another opportunity to tell the world about Ukrainians.
“When people come to a restaurant, they discover much more than just food. They become acquainted with our culture, history, and traditions. Very often, after such experiences, Italians become more interested in Ukraine, ask questions, and want to learn more. This is also part of a larger mission,” the restaurateur shared.

Oleksiv believes that Ukrainian businesses abroad today fulfill a much broader role than merely an economic one.
“Every Ukrainian abroad today is an ambassador of their country. This is especially true for entrepreneurs. People form their impressions of Ukraine through us, through our work, our integrity, and the quality we deliver. That is why we must showcase the very best we have,” he emphasized.
According to the restaurateur, supporting Ukraine should remain a priority regardless of where a person lives or works.
“Distance does not eliminate responsibility. Yes, we work in another country, but in our hearts, we remain Ukrainians. We continue to help, support charitable projects, and tell the world about our country. I am convinced that the unity of Ukrainians around the world is what brings our victory closer,” Mykola Oleksiv concluded.
Today, Mykola Oleksiv’s restaurants in Italy are known not only for their Ukrainian cuisine but also for numerous cultural and charitable initiatives that help maintain a connection between Ukrainians abroad and their homeland. The entrepreneur himself believes that true business success is measured not only by financial results but also by the positive impact it has on people and society.
