A cabriolet is customarily viewed as an uncommon type of vehicle for the Ukrainian automotive market. This is influenced by weather conditions, the quality of roadway infrastructure, and contemporary safety considerations. Consequently, the act of acquiring a car featuring an open top tends to be more of a choice driven by affection and a representation of prestige, instead of a sensible option.

The sector for new cabriolets in Ukraine persists in being minimal – typically not exceeding 1-3 vehicles each month. The predominant sales quantities are concentrated in the pre-owned vehicle marketplace: encompassing both local resales and initial registrations of vehicles brought in from abroad.

The interest in cabriolets exhibited stability throughout the annum. The decrease observed in December and January of 2025 was attributable not to seasonal factors, but to a cyberattack that temporarily disrupted car registration services.

According to the results from June to August of 2025, the most favored convertibles in Ukraine consisted of:

  • Smart Fortwo;
  • Renault Megane;
  • Mazda MX-5;
  • Audi A5;
  • Volkswagen Eos;
  • Peugeot 206 CC;
  • Ford Mustang;
  • Mercedes-Benz SLK;
  • BMW 3 Series;
  • BMW Z4.

The Ukrainian convertible market is compact yet varied. It includes, on one side, economical models such as the Smart Fortwo or Peugeot 206 CC, which present an opportunity to relish the sensation of an open roof for a comparatively modest outlay.

Conversely, there exist quintessential premium roadsters and convertibles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or the Mazda MX-5, underscoring the flair and standing of the proprietor.

It is also worth mentioning that within the initial 5 months of 2025, individuals possessing upscale vehicles have already contributed UAH 95.3 million in transportation levies. This figure surpasses the previous year’s amount by UAH 2.5 million.
