The state-owned Oschadbank, which had previously stopped servicing cards that expired before the war, has again appealed to Ukrainians.
The information is published on the financial institution's website.

“We inform you that by September 30, 2025, you need to contact Oschadbank to receive funds from current and deposit accounts, transactions on which have not been carried out for three years or more, as well as update your identification data and carry out verification,” the appeal states.
What will happen if you ignore this warning? The banking system will equate the funds to fixed deposits, on which a commission will automatically be accrued. In other words, everything will be like in the fairy tale about the golden antelope, whose every step brought money, and then they suddenly began to turn into shards.

When visiting the bank, you must have your passport and a document confirming the assignment of a taxpayer identification number with you.
“So, if you don't want your money to start “disappearing” right before your eyes, it's better not to postpone your visit to the bank. The deadline is pressing – there's not much time left until September 30!” – warn bankers.
However, the money will be available even after the account is blocked, writes the resource “News.LIVE”.

To do this, the client needs to go to a bank branch with a passport or other identification document. You also need to bring a bank card with you.
If there was money in the account, then:
- they can be withdrawn at the cash desk of a bank branch if the account was closed in the same city where it was opened;
- If the account was closed in another region, you will need to transfer the funds to another card and close the account.
Oschadbank emphasizes that the institution's activities comply with the law “On Prevention and Counteraction to the Legalization of Proceeds from Crime.” That is why the bank applies financial monitoring. In the case of suspicious or frequent transfers, clients may be asked to come to the branch and confirm the sources of income.
If a person provides documents proving legal activity, the restrictions are lifted. If the explanations are not convincing, the account may be partially blocked.

What operations are restricted?
online transactions;
transfers between bank cards.
At the same time, the client retains the ability to withdraw cash through ATMs and pay for goods and services with a card.
Thus, even in the event of account closure or blocking of transactions, customers have a mechanism to get their money back, but they need to personally contact the bank and confirm their details.
Previously, “FACTS” wrote about what to do if your card is blocked abroad.
