“Unfortunately, this year we have a low grain yield, which will be lower than last year. Therefore, this may lead to a slight increase in the cost of eggs in annual terms, to about UAH 65,” the economist said in a comment to Noviny.LIVE.
The expert also added that if the price of eggs really reaches 65 hryvnias or more, the total price increase per year, from autumn 2024 to autumn 2025, will be 80−100%.
In turn, Ilya Neskhodovsky, head of the analytical department of the ANTS network, noted that the current price for eggs will hold until mid-late October.

“The increase in egg prices is not yet predicted until the onset of cold weather. When the cold weather begins, which is approximately around October 2025, there will be a season of growth in the cost of this product in the EU, but not by more than 15−20%. This is due to the fact that during the cold period it is necessary to spend more electricity. This is around the end of October – beginning of November,” the expert said.
So far, prices for a dozen eggs are ranging from UAH 67.90 per dozen to UAH 230.8 per 30 pieces – this is evidenced by monitoring of the Ministry of Finance portal for today, September 9th.
