Military and public figure Tetyana Chornovol may again become a people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada due to the death of Andriy Parubiy. Interfax-Ukraine reports this, citing data from the parliamentary portal and the Central Election Commission.

Currently, the European Solidarity faction has 27 members of parliament. Chornovol is number 27 on the party's electoral list, which paves the way for her to win the mandate if she does not give it up.

Tetyana Chornovol already had parliamentary experience: in the Rada of the 8th convocation she represented the “People's Front” faction. Like Parubiy, she was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. In 2013, she survived an assassination attempt, and in 2014 she fought for Mariupol as part of the “Azov” battalion. In the same year, her husband died at the front.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Chornovol served in the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade, and commanded the Stugna-P ATGM crew as part of the 1st Separate Ivan Bohun Special Forces Brigade.

As a reminder, the People's Deputy from the “EU” Andriy Parubiy was shot dead on August 30 in Lviv. The politician of the VI–IX convocations, who headed the Verkhovna Rada in 2016–2019, died after being shot several times with a firearm. The attacker fled the scene of the crime.

Farewell ceremonies for Andriy Parubiy will be held in Lviv.

On Monday, September 1, at 7:00 PM, a parastas will be held at St. George's Cathedral.

On Tuesday, September 2, at 12:00, the funeral service will begin in the same church, followed by a citywide farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.
The politician will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
