US President Donald Trump has declared his intention to deliberate on concluding Russia’s conflict in Ukraine during an upcoming discourse with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chief Executive anticipates that Beijing could exert pressure on Moscow to cease hostilities.

This is reported by CNN.

“I intend to discuss with him methods for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, be it through oil, energy, or any other means. And I believe he will be very understanding,” Trump stated.

When questioned by reporters about his confidence in the Chinese leader’s capability to sway Vladimir Putin, the US president responded positively.

“I believe he possesses significant influence over Putin, and not solely him. Consider that he is a respected individual, a robust leader of a prominent nation. We will undoubtedly address the matter of Russia and Ukraine,” the American leader remarked.

The dialogue between Trump and Xi Jinping might occur at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, slated for October in Malaysia.

The White House recently conveyed that he is contemplating a trip to China “around the commencement of next year.”

Trump had previously called off a meeting with Putin in Budapest, explaining that he “didn’t wish to waste time” given Moscow’s refusal to immediately consent to a ceasefire in Ukraine.
